When I say jump, you say how high!

great minds think alike!

Alli and I went to Sky Zone (Indoor Trampoline Park) yesterday. She had been before and promised me that I would have a great time. We entered and were asked to sign a waiver and then how long we would like to jump. We couldn’t decide between  1/2 an hour or 1 hour. We ended up purchasing a 1 hour time slot. They gave us each a pair of shoes and told us to go have fun. As I entered the facility I was amazed by what I saw.  Tons of trampolines and I even saw them on the walls. ( AMAZING) I had some previous jumping experience from CAMP MAC (trampoline as an elective… of course that was when I was 10) but I still managed to remember some of it. Now I did not do any flips but managed to jump into the trampoline on the wall and not fall down (that would be successful for me/ not embarassing myself ) I know you all would like to see pictures of me jumping but I’m sorry I can’t oblige. My face was about as red as a tomato after we started jumping and my hair looked like I had just gotten out of bed. I have heard that they might be doing a SkyRobics class on Saturday at 8:30 A.M. which I would be thrilled to try out. ( I was told that it is possible to burn 1,000 calories in that class in an hour.) FANTASTIC

Simply satisfying Saturday night

School starts back tomorrow and I think we are all saying boo just as much as our students are! Where did winter break go? I want another week of vacation.

Last night we met up with friends at Buffalo Wild Wings and then headed back to our (J and me) place for apple cider, cookies, and Just Dance on the wii! Yes, you heard me right we got our friends to play it. Now here is the question who had more fun… the people playing the wii or the people watching? Let’s just say it was quite entertaining!

Also I have to let you know that today is little Leo’s birthday! He turns 3 and we celebrated with 2 new toys.

My last tid bit for you (I’ve been saving this gem) is something I stumbled upon while making a mad dash through Byerlys on Saturday while Justin waited patiently in the car… Microwavable Fondue! Pure genius and reasonably priced. It’s made by my favorite Brie people PRESIDENT. I sampled it at the grocery and it is super delish and oh so reasonable. This will be dinner one night this week with bread, veggies, and white wine.

New Years Eve

I have been quite a busy girl today. I have been running a bunch of errands. I’m having a blast because Justin is off work and helping me. We even managed to grab a quick bite at Punch. (delish)

Now to what I’m super excited to share with y’all. Tonight Justin and I are having a couple people over before we go to a party later on.
What am I serving? Well I am pretty thrilled that I found this giant Brie on sale. I’m planning on covering it with pecans, brown sugar, and kahlua and wrapping it in puff pastry. I am also making the mushroom squares I shared earlier this week and I have some party mix lest over that I am planning on throwing in a bowl. I also wanted to have some sweet stuff so I ran over to Sweet Retreat and grabbed some cupcakes. Did I also mention that I am making new years cookies ( more on that tomorrow) Ya know, I just can’t help myself… I love entertaining. ( I wonder who I got that gene from… My mother :) )

Getting psyched for the New Year!

Thank goodness this year is almost over. I am so excited for 2011 and so ready for some change! In preparation for saying adios to 2010 I thought I would give you an idea of how I’m planning to say good bye.

My outfit:

I’m going for a glammed up casual look. I’m thinking jeans with a sparkly Jcrew top + sweater paired with knee high boots. I’m sure I will throw in a mixture of pearls and diamonds to keep it classy.

Here is the top I am planning on wearing with a sweater on top of it (because really it’s freezing here and sleeveless is just plain silly right now) . You can’t really tell but it has lots of sparklies (I love sparklies..I’m still a kid at heart )

Now the most important thing: What should you serve on New Years?  I’m all about serving  fun appetizers. These are two of my favorites. They remind me of “the fam”  whom I love!

Vidalia Onion Dip

 Ingredients:

3 cups chopped Vidalia onions

3 cups shredded Swiss cheese

2 cups Hellman’s mayonnaise

2 teaspoons garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon hot sauce

 Directions:

Put all ingredients  in food processor. Pulse until combined.

Pour into greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35- 40 minutes until lightly brown. Serve with water crackers

Easy mushroom snacks

1 pkg crescent rolls

Cook next five ingredients in sauce pan

8oz can mushrooms

2 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon chopped onion

First press rolls in 9×13 dish. Then spread with 3 oz cream cheese on and put mushroom mixture on top. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake in preheated 350  oven for 20 minutes or until brown.

Both of these recipes came from my lovely mother! Check out a recent favorite photo of mine.

I think my mom loves sparklies too!
