Appetizer Lovin: Barbecue Salami

Have you ever heard of Barbecue Salami? (probably not… but I’m letting you in on a family recipe that has been made over and over and could not be easier) My mom makes this every year for Thanksgiving and it’s a big hit! Plus it is quite easy to keep these ingredients in your home and be able to throw together an easy appetizer in no time. Unfortunately, I have no picture to show you of this delish dish but hopefully I can snap one up this Thanksgiving.

Barbecue Salami

1/4 bottle of cooking sherry

1 bottle Heinz chili sauce

1 Kosher Salami (I usually find mine at Costco.)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the cooking sherry and chili sauce together in a bowl. Before you bake it we have found that it is easier to slice the salami but not all the way through.Place salami in an oven safe dish.  Pour the cooking sherry and chili sauce mixture over the salami. Bake for 1 hour. Before serving cut into slices and then serve with small slices of bread and honey mustard.
