An Apple A Day…

What a fabulous weekend! The warm weather was so unexpected and made it necessary to get outside. Justin was working on Saturday so I tagged along with Adam, Galina, Molly, and Eric to the apple orchard. I came home with a huge bag of apples and an eagerness to create many different apple desserts. Take a look at a delish recipe for Apple Crisp and some pictures from the apple orchard. What are your favorite recipes with Apples?

6 apples (washed, peeled, and sliced)

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup rolled oats

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon (I used Penzeys cinnamon which is my favorite! )

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

7 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)

Preheat oven to 375. Spray an 8 inch square baking dish with cooking spray. Place apples in dish. Combine all ingredients except butter in a bowl and mix. Cut butter up into small slices and mix in. Pour mixture on top of apples and bake for 35 minutes. If you want you can serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Enjoy!
